Ashanti Shequoiya Douglas popularly known in the media as Ashanti was born on 13 October the 13th of October, 1980 at Glen Cove New York United States. She's a performer and an actress from in the United States. Ashanti started her career as a teenager, and was eventually signed to Murder Inc. Records by 2002. In the same year, she was featured on Fat Joe's What's Luv? The song "What's love?" by Fat Joe and Ja Rule, entitled Always on Time was a huge hit for both of them. Hey Baby (After The Club) hit radios and digital platforms on 16 October. She played Latasha on Army Wives and starred in the movie Christmas in the City.
